Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose has strongly denied allegations of sexual harassment, describing them as an "engineered narratives".

In response to claims made by employees of the Raj Bhavan, Bose stated, "If anybody wants some election benefits by maligning me, God bless them. But they cannot stop my fight against corruption and violence in Bengal."

The West Bengal Raj Bhavan, in a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, said: "To the Raj Bhavan staff who expressed solidarity with Hon'ble Governor Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose against whom some derogatory narratives were circulated by two disgruntled employees as agents of political parties, Hon'ble Governor said".

"Truth shall triumph. I refuse to be cowed down by engineered narratives. If anybody wants some election benefits by maligning me, God bless them. But they cannot stop my fight against corruption and violence in Bengal," Bose was quoted as saying by Raj Bhavan.

Indira Mukherjee, Deputy Commissioner (Central) of Kolkata Police, informed that a complaint was lodged against the Governor, with the alleged incident reported to have occurred inside Raj Bhavan.

"We are enquiring into it. We cannot share when the incident took place. As per the complainant, the incident took place inside Raj Bhavan. She complained that several times this has happened," the official stated, India Today reported.

Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress has voiced its concerns over the matter on social media, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene.

"Shocking details emerging in the Raj Bhavan Molestation case! Sexual assault survivor reveals more women were harassed in similar manner! PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah should ensure justice for these victims if they truly believe in Nari Ka Samman," TMC said in a post on X.
