While Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna is not in India, another First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against him in the sexual assault case.
A woman, in her 40s and a former zilla panchayat member, has alleged that Prajwal raped her multiple times between 1 January 2021 and 25 April 2024 and recorded her explicit videos.
She alleged that when she went to seek Prajwal's help in 2021, he took her inside a room, closed the door and asked her to remove clothes by threatening her with a gun.
She accused Prajwal of recording a video of her while she removed her clothes and then raped her. He then threatened to leak this video to again rape her multiple times later.
"Using those videos (as leverage), he used to video call me over the phone and ask me to strip. He also raped me several times," the woman said in her complaint.
The woman reportedly got the courage to speak out after a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was made to probe the allegations of Prajwal raping several women.
She also recorded her statement with the SIT after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) registered her FIR on 1 May, Indian Express reported.
Meanwhile, a lookout circular has been issued for Hassan MP Prajwal, the grandson of JD(S) founder and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.
A lookout circular means that whenever Prajwal returns from Germany, he will be detained at an immigration point. The JD(S) has also suspended him from the party.
