Homegrown smartphone maker Micromax on Friday (23 October) announced that it will be launching a range of smartphones under its new IN Mobiles brand on 3 November.
The company took to Twitter to announce the "mega unveiling" of its new IN Mobiles smartphones.
"Aao karein thodi cheeni kum! Gear up for the mega unveiling of the new #INMobiles range of smartphones by Micromax live at 12 noon on the 3rd of November," Micromax said in a tweet.
In the video attached to the tweet, Micromax attacked the Chinese mobile phone companies and said that it intends to provide a "bonafide Indian choice" to the consumers.
It should be noted that Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma on 16 October had announced the comeback of the company in the Indian smartphone arena with its “IN” range of smartphones and also briefed about the firm's intention of competing with their Chinese counterparts.
Micromax was the second-largest smartphone maker in India in 2014. However, the prospects of indigenous companies in this sector dwindled since 2016 as they fell behind in producing 4G smartphones at affordable rates. Micromax’s prominence in the market suffered as the Chinese brands took the centre-stage.
